Wendell Jones is an English composer for media, based in Mexico. Educated in all aspects of music production, he can help you realise your vision with original music of the highest quality. Wendell always enjoys working in the collaborative process to achieve a unique soundscape for his clients’ projects. Classically-trained in piano since the age of 6 and self-taught on the accordion, guitar and bass, Wendell has performed in orchestras, jazz ensembles and bands around the world for over 20 years. Since 2008, he has provided music for countless web series, short films, documentaries, audio dramas and much more. In 2011, Wendell founded the composition team Sideshow Sound Theatre with creative partner Will Dodson with the goal of releasing an annual Halloween album of haunting, orchestral music for their favourite time of year. As an avid reader and new writer of science fiction and fantasy, Wendell is in the process of completing his debut sci-fi novel, The Prisoner’s Husk. After participating and winning in NaNoWriMo 2017, he has finished the first draft with hopes of completion by autumn 2018. Having spent a decade building words and telling stories through music he has now begun to translate his visions to prose in the heart of Mexico. Inspired by the works of authors such as Douglas Adams, Octavia E. Butler and PKD, he can’t wait to share his literary adventures with you.
Wendell co-founded the podcast network Sideshow Sound Radio in 2014 and regularly hosts the popular, film music discussion show Score Guide with Will providing an informative and entertaining track-by-track analysis of all the soundtracks they love, identifying and discussing themes, leitmotifs, instrumentation and textures in detail. Debuting in 2015, Wendell also co-hosts the Disney soundtrack show Mouse Music, celebrating the music and history of the Walt Disney company.
